As an official Balanced Body® host studio, Bodyline Pilates® offers the full series of Balanced Body Pilates teacher training modules used to complete certification, available in our Beverly Hills studio & virtually.

Explore the four Balanced Body certification pathways and the essential modules required for each. Begin with Movement Principles, the foundation for all teacher training, then progress through the full program.

Movement Principles Teacher Certification

Movement Principles is the first required module in the Balanced Body Pilates teacher training program and forms the foundation of your certification pathway.

MOVEMENT PRINCIPLES 

  • Prerequisite for all Balanced Body Pilates coursework

Module includes:

  • Whole Body Movement

  • Trunk Integration

  • Upper and Lower Body Training

  • Mobility and Restoration

    Total hours: 16

This course builds a strong movement foundation that supports confident teaching across all Pilates environments.

Mat Pilates Teacher Certification

Mat training is a foundational component of the Pilates method and an essential part of the Balanced Body Pilates teacher certification pathway. This program develops strong teaching skills, movement clarity, and effective class design for a wide range of clients and abilities.

Requirements for Mat Pilates Certification

  • Anatomy (recommended)

  • Movement Principles (16 hours)

  • Mat 1 (16 hours)

  • Mat 2 (16 hours)

  • Mat 3 (16 hours)

  • 20 Mat personal sessions

  • 15 observation hours

  • 35 student teaching hours

  • Final written and practical test

    Total estimated hours: 134

Modules include:

  • Mat 1-3: Progress from beginner to advanced levels, mastering the origins of Pilates and effectively applying it to your students.

Each module is crafted to build on the last, ensuring a seamless progression that empowers you to become a confident, well-rounded Mat instructor.

Reformer Pilates Teacher Certification

The Balanced Body Pilates Reformer Certification builds progressively from foundational skills to advanced programming. These modules train instructors to teach safely, confidently, and effectively using the Pilates Reformer across a wide range of clients and settings.

Requirements for Reformer Pilates Teacher Certification

  • Movement Principles (16 hours)

  • Balanced Body Reformer 1, 2, and 3 coursework and tests

  • Anatomy completed prior to testing

  • 30 Reformer personal sessions

  • 30 observation hours

  • 90 student teaching hours

  • Final written and practical exam

    Total hours: 214 (anatomy not included)

Modules include:

  • Reformer 1-3: Progress from foundational to advanced levels, mastering the Reformer techniques that will elevate your teaching and set you apart in the Pilates community.

Each module is crafted to build on the last, ensuring a seamless progression that empowers you to become a confident, well-rounded Reformer instructor.

Trapeze Table Teacher Certification

The Balanced Body Trapeze Table Module provides advanced training in Cadillac and Trapeze Table exercises, with applications for rehabilitation, general conditioning, and high-level programming. This module expands an instructor’s ability to teach across multiple pieces of equipment with confidence and precision.

Trapeze Table and Cadillac Certification

Module includes:

  • Full Trapeze Table and Cadillac repertoire

  • Allegro® and Tower of Power applications

  • Programming for beginner through advanced clients

  • Equipment setup, safety, and maintenance

  • Teaching strategies for rehabilitation and performance-based training

In-Studio

Live in-studio workshops with Maria Leone at our Beverly Hills Studio

Virtual

Join in on live workshops via Zoom. Participants will receive link to our live Zoom session. Course is taught live in conjunction with our in-studio participants.

Teacher Training Practice & Observation

Teacher trainees enrolled in Balanced Body certification may fulfill observation and student teaching hours through select Bodyline group classes. These classes provide real time experience, advanced repertoire exposure, and the opportunity to observe professional instruction in a live studio setting.
