How to begin at
Bodyline.
Whether you’re new to Pilates or new to Bodyline Beverly Hills, we’ll help you find the right starting point, whether that’s private sessions, semi-private training, Reformer Foundations, or Level 1-2 group classes.
─── CHOOSE YOUR STARTING POINT
Three ways to begin.
Not sure which is right for you? Beginners and clients with injuries or specific goals are best served by starting with a private session or Pilates foundation group class. Comfortable on a reformer already? Jump into a Level 1–2 group class. Want to train with a friend? Try a semi-private.
OPTION 01 • RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS
Private Training
One-on-one with a certified instructor. The fastest, most personalized way to learn the method, address injuries, and build a foundation that translates into every future class.
OPTION 02 • TRAIN WITH A PARTNER
Semi-Private Training
Two clients, one instructor, shared programming. A focused way to learn alongside a friend, partner, or family member at a more accessible price point than a private.
OPTION 03 • ALREADY COMFORTABLE ON A REFORMER
Level 1-2 Group Class
Beginner-friendly small group reformer classes that introduce foundational exercises, alignment, and movement principles in a supportive environment.
New to Bodyline, Not New to Pilates.
If you have prior Pilates experience and feel comfortable working on the reformer, you’re welcome to join our Level 3-5 or All Level group classes. These classes are designed for clients who understand Pilates fundamentals and can move at a steady pace with fewer modifications.

-
Many beginners start with either a private Pilates session or a beginner-friendly reformer class. Private sessions provide personalized instruction and can help you learn Pilates fundamentals, proper alignment, and equipment setup before joining group classes.
-
Both options can be effective. Private sessions offer individualized attention and customized programming, while beginner group classes provide a supportive environment and a lower cost per session. Many new students begin with a few private sessions before transitioning to group classes.
-
No experience is required. Beginner reformer classes are designed to introduce the equipment, terminology, and foundational Pilates exercises in a safe and supportive environment.
-
Your instructor will guide you through the equipment, explain key Pilates principles, and help you learn foundational movements. Expect a low-impact workout focused on core strength, posture, flexibility, balance, and body awareness.
-
No experience is required. Private Pilates sessions are an excellent starting point for beginners because the instructor can tailor the session to your fitness level, movement history, and goals.
-
Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are recommended for both safety and comfort during Pilates classes and private sessions.
-
Private Pilates sessions can be especially valuable for beginners, clients recovering from injury, athletes, and anyone seeking individualized instruction. Sessions are tailored to your goals, fitness level, and movement patterns.
